===== 以下是惠的報導(是她要求我post這一篇的) ======
Here are the links for Chuang Yen Buddhist Monastery. They are still open, up to new year and will close until 3/31/2008 (except Chinese new year eve and new year). We went to the temple yesterday and had delicious home-made vegetarian lunch there (thanks to the 7-day meditation program held from 12/22 to 12/28; they typically only provide lunch on the weekends). Dress warm for snow fun!
On the other side of the world, the material world, there is a chance to see $1 million...On Christmas Eve, at Rockefeller Center, everyone in my family saw our first $1 million. This $1mm is consisted of $100mm pennies donated by school kids. Ironically, the "penny pond" was actually serenely beautiful against the Christmas lighting, with unearthly glamour of heavenly lands.
A cool $1MM pennies!!
莊嚴寺 Limited Winter Schedule
January 02, 2008 - March 31, 2008 will not be open to visitors
Chuang Yen Monastery is located in a rural area of Putnam County, New York off Route 301, between Carmel and Cold Spring. The winter weather is always cold and often icy, so the roads become too treacherous to drive on. Visitors have often had accidents, although fortunately, no one has been seriously hurt. We, at the Monastery, wish to avoid any further accidents or injuries that may occur, so we have made this decision.
We wish visitors would not come to CYM when the weather makes the roads too dangerous. If any accident occurs we cannot take responsibility for it.
However, we will be opened for Chinese New Year Eve and New Year, Feb.6th & 7th, inclusive, vegetarian lunch will be provided only on Feb 7th at 12pm. Beginning March 31st, we will resume our normal schedule, 9:00am to 5:00pm, all week.
